About 36 Lisgar Street — Edge on Triangle Park
As one of many Toronto lofts, units in the Edge on Triangle Park certainly have an edge of their own. This boutique mid-rise soft loft is quite distinctive from the authentic hard loft conversions in the city, and also manages to stand out from its more contemporary counterparts. Located at 36 Lisgar Street, the development is made up of a pair of matching towers of concrete, steel, and of course loads and loads of lustrous glass.
In the spirit of twosomes and teamwork the buildings are co-owned by Plazacorp and Urbancorp — Urbancorp are the same people who built Epic on Triangle Park — together the buildings house over 500 units that are spread out over 21 storeys, adding some much-needed Little Portugal condos for sale or rent into the mix.
And while more established Torontonians may opt for heritage buildings or simply larger homes, the Edge on Triangle Park appeals to young professionals with their smaller, yet fresher aesthetics. The modern style of the lofts at 36 Lisgar serves as an essential break from the older buildings in the area — contemporary designs and updated facilities intersect to accommodate the hectic lives of these youthful residents.
A top-notch lineup of amenities is ready for neighbours to share at 36 Lisgar: the building offers exercise facilities including a yoga and meditation room, a swimming pool and rooftop terrace, a 24 hour concierge service, party room, media room, and guest suites. The communal “Edge Club” also allows residents to entertain beyond the confines of their individual units, as it boasts both a wet bar and caterer’s kitchen.
Beyond these amenities, residents of the Edge on Triangle Park can also enjoy the large outdoor area afforded by Lisgar Park, just to the north. A common square with a carefully coiffed garden also sits pretty between the two buildings, serving as a meeting point, a place to unwind, or simply a way to travel between the structures without using the main streets.
The Suites
The homes at 36 Lisgar range in size from approximately 300 to 900 square feet, and what they lack in size they make up for in their bright and airy atmospheres. Open concept layouts, spacious balconies, and plenty of natural sunlight create a sense of space for residents. Plus, with windows strategically placed on both east and west sides, sunlight has the chance to enter these homes at all points of the day. Some insightful residents might even be tempted to set up a sundial, or set their alarms early to catch the sunrise every now and then.
While the smallest of these homes that feature one bedroom would be an ideal place for a young professional or couple to come home to each night, some of the larger units contain up to two bedrooms plus a den. In these, residents have the option to set up a home office, or to use the extra space for anything they may desire.
The Neighbourhood
Located in the Little Portugal neighourhood, lofts at the Edge on Triangle Park benefit from their proximity to West Queen West, as well as their position on a serene side street. This way the hustle and bustle of west end Toronto can be accessed when the mood strikes, with residents enjoying peace and quiet the majority of the time.
Once the sun sets, residents might choose to grab a drink or a bite to eat at the Drake Hotel before heading out to the various bars that line Queen Street West. Named one of the world’s coolest neighbourhoods by Vogue, however, West Queen West is about more than just its nightlife. During the day, the street is vibrant with trendy locals and tourists wandering through the various boutiques and galleries.
Residents are also only a short walk away from some of the city’s most beloved green spaces. Trinity Bellwoods is an ideal place for everything from tennis to swimming, fetch, and even simply people-watching. Another great option is Coronation Park, which provides stunning views of Lake Ontario.
Transportation
Residents living at 36 Lisgar are ideally located within walking or cycling distance of entertainment and amenities. And when ready to head out of the immediate neighbourhood, travelers have ample options for transportation around the city and beyond.
For those who rely on public transit, streetcars along Queen West run 24 hours a day. From here, passengers can travel east toward Osgoode station on the University-Spadina subway line. A few stops on the subway will land travelers at Union Station, where one can transfer onto VIA Rail trains, GO trains or buses, or even the UP trains to Pearson International Airport. Alternatively, buses run north and south along Dufferin Street, making stops at Dufferin station on the Bloor-Danforth line.
Drivers can access the Gardiner Expressway in a few short minutes via Jameson Avenue. From here, residents can travel around the southern edge of the city, or connect with the 427 and the Don Valley Parkway with ease.
